Riley Poetry Slam Event

Poetry Slam RulesFamily-Friendly Event

  1. Respectful Content
    All performances must be appropriate for a family audience. Coarse language, lewd imagery, or descriptions are strictly prohibited. Please ensure your content is respectful and suitable for all ages.
  2. Original Work Only
    All participants must perform original poetry. No plagiarized material will be allowed. Performers are encouraged to showcase their unique voices and perspectives.
  3. Time Limit
    Each participant will have a maximum of 10 minutes to perform their poem. A warning will be given at the 2-minute mark. Performances exceeding the time limit may be cut off.
  4. Respect for Others
    All participants and audience members must maintain a spirit of respect and support. Disrespectful behavior, heckling, or interruptions will not be tolerated.
  5. Audience Etiquette
    Audience members are asked to remain quiet and attentive during performances. Applause and positive feedback are encouraged but please refrain from shouting or making disruptive noises.
  6. Registration and Participation
    All participants must register in advance. On-the-day registration will be subject to availability. Slots are limited, so sign up early!
  7. Safety and Comfort
    Please be mindful of others’ personal space and comfort. If you need assistance or have any questions, please contact an event organizer.
